Bridging The Gap | A Workshop For Parents + Teens (In-person)

  • 16 Die Laan Stellenbosch South Africa (map)

Gen X: Gen X was born between 1965 and 1979/80 and is currently between 41-56 years old.

Gen Z: Gen Z is the newest generation, born between 1997 and 2012. They are currently between 6 and 24 years old.

They can seem worlds apart: mindfulness may just be a bridge that can span the divide.

Join life coach and yoga teacher Nicci Cloete in a lighthearted workshop for parents and teens where we learn together how to show up more mindfully for ourselves and for each other. From listening to actually understand (rather than waiting for one’s turn to reply) to ways to co-regulate, mindfulness helps us to become more fully present and to practice the pause between stimulus and response, enabling us to choose a response that may benefit the situation more than reacting from a place of habit.

You will learn some simple tips and tricks including breathing techniques to calm you down and think more rationally, and physical movements that can bring some relief when we’re feeling stressed, anxious, depressed.

It will be an interactive workshop where we will probably have a few giggles and eye rolls but also spend time really dipping into how it feels to become more relaxed, more accepting, more present, less judgmental, less critical, more accepting, and more compassionate - towards each other but also towards ourselves.

No experience of meditation, mindfulness, yoga is required, but experience of being a parent or being parented is essential.
